causing more misery to families trying to rebuild their lives after super storm sandy. some still without heat. david lee miller is in staten island where they've taken cover in tents. what can you tell us? >> unfortunately, the situation out here in staten island and for many areas in the northeast still dire for victims of sandy. let me give you some idea of the geography. if we pan to our left, here you see the coast line just beyond the trees. the water during the storm poured into this neighborhood. we're going to pan the other way across the street. you can see the debris that was once a home and next door on either side you can see other homes completely destroyed, damaged. they have written notices on them, they've been condemned, they're not habitable. behind me now, this is a tent city, entirely set up by volunteers. this tent city services about 100 people a day. as many as 1500 over the weekend. let's go inside the community center here, if you will. you can get some idea of what's going on. this is a heated room. new york city police are providing diesel fuel for the

sandy hook elementary school and then you also had last night, on governor huckabee's show the daughter of the parents killed in that luby massacre talking about gun control and some of the laws and pieces of legislation are floated by the likes of dianne feinstein wouldn't do anything, listen to her. >> they're a joke. the only thing that gun laws like that do is prevent people like me from being able to protect ourselves. they do not affect people who are bent on doing harm in any way, shape or form. so, i find it very frustrating when they use such a horrible event as what happened in connecticut to try and go after guns that frankly, this is another one of my frustrations, is that these so-called assault weapons, when you talk to the average person on the street, they think they mean rapid fire weapons, and you and i know that those rapid fire weapons have been illegally in this country since the 1930's, so they're taking a class of guns and renamed them so that people are afraid of them. but they don't shoot any differently than what i own. >> clayton: tell us how you feel

discussion about guns in schools, and guns in general after the sandy hook sad situation in december in connecticut. and now there's a kindergarten girl who apparently owns one of these little devices, you look at the screen at hello kitty bubble gun. apparently, she was talking about this toy at school. it's my understanding she actually didn't even have the toy with her at the mt. carmel area school in pennsylvania. as a result of just talking about shooting bubbles at one another, apparently she received a ten-day suspension. it was reduced to two days, but that's kind of unclear now whether or not she should even have faced any kind of suspensi suspension. >> steve: well, this is kind of crazy the two five-year-old girls were waiting at the bus, hey, i'm going to shoot you with my hello kitty bubble machine and somebody overheard it and next thing you know, just because people are, you know, freaked out about guns since sandy hook, the school got involved. and she was suspended for ten days, and then reduced it to two. but she was also given, because of talking about playing with
